Updated Dec 21, 2009
It appears that all the ewes have conceived and are due before mid-February. This is the first year since 1999 that I have not bred my ewes via LAI, rather I used my own purebred ram who I felt was worthy of my high standards. This purebred white ram has just been sold to another flock and I have an upcoming white yearling that will serve as clean-up ram this fall.
It is now my intent to maintain only purebred Wensleydales in my flock and so I anticipate that any superior 94% lambs born in the spring will be for sale. All of the 93% ewes in the flock will be available to new homes as long as they remain sound upon weaning their lambs. These ewes, both white and colored, have served me well in the upgrading program and would not have been retained in my flock if they were not excellent examples of the breed. Some have been champions at many shows and all of their fleeces have brought awards and good income to the farm.
Please bookmark this page and as soon as any decisions are made, photos and stats will be posted here. I can generally arrange for shipping to the east from May through September.
